How to clean a phone case without damaging it

Dirt and skin oils collect around buttons, the camera ring and edges. Gentle regular cleaning keeps the case fresh and prevents stubborn build-up.

In this guide
  1. Always remove the phone first
  2. Silicone and plastic
  3. Leather or leather look
  4. What to avoid

Always remove the phone first

Take the case off and remove loose dust with a dry microfibre cloth. Never clean a case while the phone is still inside.

Silicone and plastic

Use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap. Wipe with a soft cloth, rinse sparingly and dry completely before refitting the phone.

Leather or leather look

Use as little moisture as possible and never soak it. Dab carefully and test any cleaner on a hidden area first.

What to avoid

Do not use abrasives, bleach, strong alcohol or a hard brush. Never dry the case on a heater or reinstall it while wet.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I clean my case?

For daily use, a quick weekly wipe and a more thorough monthly clean is practical.

Can a case go in the dishwasher?

No. Heat and strong detergent can affect the shape, coating and magnetic parts.
